Glad you're here!
In the next 5 minutes, the goodies will be in your inbox.
While you wait for them to arrive, here are five tips on how to start modeling.
1. Pay attention to people around you
100% of my modeling students, when they begin a workshop with me, believe that they should only model the person who's the best in the world at something.
Big mistake — and I don't want you to make it either.
Around you, you have people who are better than 98% of humanity at a particular skill.
For instance, I discovered that one of my really good friends was a master at day trading.
Think I wasted time trying to get access to George Soros or Paul Tudor Jones?
Find the bad asses around you. They're accessible. Model them.
2. Design a modeling project
The word "modeling" can be misleading.
It sounds like an activity, like "running" or "swimming."
Truth is, to model, you need to design a modeling project.
A project has a beginning, a middle and an end with phases in the middle and milestones you hit.
As such, a modeling project has structure.
When you properly design and structure your modeling project, you always know where you're at.
It gives you confidence and certainty, and allows you to measure your progress.
3. Set up proper protection
NLP modeling is like the UFC: it's a full-contact sport.
This means that you can get hurt.
Because you have to enroll your unconscious mind in the process, it is very important for you to set up adequate protective measures. These will shield your unconscious mind from absorbing patterns that could harm you.
That's why it's the first thing I teach my students when we begin a modeling workshop.
Whether you choose to do a workshop with me or not, make sure you put these protective measures in place.
4. Stimulate the communication between your brain hemispheres
NLP modeling highly leverages both hemispheres of the brain.
The more you stimulate the communication between them, the faster you get gains from your modeling project.
With a quick search on the web, you can find these kinds of exercises.
Take advantage of them!
5. Learn the NLP code
Finally, what's the use of modeling patterns if you can't annotate them and share them.
The alphabet is a code that allows us to record speech in a written form for later use or sharing.
Music notation is a code that allows musicians to record musical phrases on sheets of paper for later use or sharing.
Likewise, NLP has a code that allows us to record behavioral patterns on paper for later use or sharing.
If you're serious about learning how to model, be sure to learn the NLP code. It will help you A LOT when the time comes to process the results of your modeling project.
Here are the tips again, in a nutshell:
- Pay attention to people around you
- Design a modeling project
- Set up proper protection
- Stimulate the communication between your brain hemispheres
- Learn the NLP code
